Kano State Police Command has arrested 18-year-old Saudat Jibril of Farawa Quarters for allegedly killing her husband, 30-year-old Salisu Idris, by slitting his throat with a knife.
In a statement on Tuesday, police said Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori deployed detectives to the scene immediately after receiving the report. The victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
“The suspect is currently being held at the command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section, and will face charges for culpable homicide,” the police said.
Commissioner Bakori warned that the command “will not tolerate any form of violence or criminality in the state.”
