Opesusi Faith Timilehin, a 19-year-old from Abeokuta, reportedly ingested rodent poison on Monday, May 12, after receiving her JAMB result. The Microbiology aspirant, who lived with her sister in Ikorodu, had scored higher in the 2024 exam. Neighbours described her as “gentle and humble,” noting her distress before her death.
According to sources, Timilehin visited her sister’s office in pain, requesting palm oil to ease the poison’s effects. Unaware of the situation, her sister initially ignored her before raising an alarm. “She confessed on the way to the hospital that she had taken poison,” an eyewitness said. Tragically, JAMB sent her an admission offer via email shortly after she was declared dead at Kolak Hospital.
Her grieving parents arrived to transport her remains to Abeokuta, as angry residents blamed JAMB for the heartbreaking incident.
