Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says elements from APC, PDP, and Labour Party are forming a coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking in Abuja, Atiku told visiting Kogi-East leaders, “We have a coalition. All the major political parties are involved… That is the way to go in confronting such an incompetent and inefficient government.”
However, PDP and LP have denied involvement. PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba insisted, “The PDP is not engaged in any merger, fusion or amalgamation talks.”
LP’s Obiorah Ifoh also said, “The Labour Party is not in any merger or coalition talks with anyone.”
APC dismissed Atiku’s plan, calling it “a dream.” Party spokesman Bala Ibrahim said, “Atiku is a serial loser… This is just another one.”
Atiku’s aide clarified the coalition includes individuals, not entire parties. “This is a coalition driven by the people,” said Paul Ibe. “Leaders are being taken hostage… and that’s dangerous for democracy.”
