“The four-year single tenure proposal by Peter Obi has formally been submitted to the coalition movement,” Yunusa Tanko said.

Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, has confirmed that Peter Obi has submitted his proposal for a single four-year tenure to the Atiku Abubakar-led coalition movement for consideration ahead of the 2027 election.

Tanko revealed this during a ceremony in Gombe State where Obi was conferred with the traditional title of Sarki Maskan (War Hero) for his dedication to the Pantami community. Obi’s former media aide was also honoured with the title Dan Maje Babba Pantanmi.

“The four-year single tenure proposal by Peter Obi has formally been submitted to the coalition movement,” Tanko stated, expressing optimism that the alliance would support the idea.

Meanwhile, the coalition has reportedly adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform, appointing former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun governor Rauf Aregbesola as interim chairman and secretary, respectively. Bolaji Abdullahi was named interim publicity secretary.

The alliance aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC in 2027.
