2027 Elections: El-Rufai says APC will be defeated by united opposition

El-Rufai has vowed to help retire Tinubu and the APC in 2027, citing insider knowledge and a new opposition coalition.

Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has declared that he, alongside other opposition leaders, is prepared to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. Speaking on a Channels Television programme on Sunday, El-Rufai said his experience as one of APC’s founding members gives him insight into the party’s weaknesses.

“We formed the APC; we know where the dead body is buried. Some of them, like Atiku, know where the PDP’s dead body is buried. Together we can face APC. We don’t need to have totally different people from nowhere to challenge APC,” he stated.

El-Rufai criticised Tinubu’s administration, arguing that both the economy and security have worsened under his leadership. DAILY POST reports that El-Rufai, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and ex-Rivers governor Rotimi Amaechi have recently aligned with the African Democratic Congress in a coalition aimed at dislodging the ruling party in the next general elections.
