A 32-year-old woman was rescued alive after falling into a 60-foot well in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
A 32-year-old woman was rescued alive after falling into a 60-foot well at No. 14 Mustapha Bolatiwa Street, off Agric Bus Stop, Ikorodu, Lagos.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said the incident, which drew a crowd, occurred when the unidentified woman slipped while sitting by the well.
Director of the Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, said:
“The woman was successfully brought out alive after a tense and delicate operation.”
She added that the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Adeseye urged residents to ensure wells and similar openings are properly covered to prevent accidents and commended her team’s swift response and professionalism.
