He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Thursday directed that Peter Oshomah be held at the Kirikiri Custodial Centre, following accusations of sexually assaulting a 19-month-old baby (identity withheld).
The Lagos State Government arraigned Oshomah on a single count of defilement. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
After the plea was taken, prosecuting counsel Inumidun Solarin requested the court to fix a date for trial—a motion the defense did not contest.
The charge reads: “Peter Oshomah Jezomi on or about February 5, 2024 at about 17.25 hours at No. 8, DB Street, Shagari Estate, Ipaja, Lagos did defile one (names withheld) aged 1 year and 7 months old by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.”
