The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended four individuals involved in cyberstalking and issuing threats to residents, particularly in Ihiala Local Government Area.
The Anambra State Police Command has detained four suspects for allegedly issuing threats of kidnapping, abduction, and cyberstalking in Ihiala Local Government Area. Spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed their arrests and detention. Ikenga noted that the suspects’ intended actions could disrupt public safety and undermine the state’s security framework.
The arrests followed an investigation by the joint security force in Ihiala, acting on intelligence regarding individuals involved in threats of violence and cyberstalking. On Thursday, at approximately 2:53 p.m., operatives arrested the four male suspects, all residents of Okohia in Ihiala.
Mobile phones and SIM cards used to issue threats and incite panic were recovered during the operation. “All the suspects confessed to the crimes and are currently in custody for further interrogation,” Ikenga stated.
