Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, National Coordinator of Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), has criticized emerging opposition coalitions ahead of the 2027 elections, describing them as selfish and divisive.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has criticized ongoing opposition coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections, labeling them as self-serving and detrimental to national unity.

In a statement on Tuesday, the National Coordinator of the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) urged politicians to “place national interest above personal or political gain” and warned against igniting ethnic and religious tensions.

“This is not about personal disappointment; rather, it is about the broader picture—about what Nigeria is becoming in the face of deepening political divisions, tribal sentiments, and religious bias,” he stated.

Alawuje affirmed that “the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that I know will not allow a repeat of what happened to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.”

He also commended former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida for reflecting on the annulled June 12 election, saying, “his current reflections and sincere concern for Nigeria’s cohesion deserve recognition.”
