Commander Sanda: ‘Our commitment to keeping Lagos free from Boko Haram remains strong.’
The Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Lagos has apprehended over 100 individuals suspected of being Boko Haram operatives, as part of intensified efforts to prevent insurgent infiltration into the state.
CJTF Commander, Mr. Kumar Sanda, disclosed the arrests during an award ceremony in Lagos, where the group was honored by a human rights organization. Sanda emphasized the CJTF’s proactive surveillance of strategic locations, including trailer parks, quarries, and markets, to intercept potential threats.
“We regularly make arrests at trailer parks, quarries, markets, and other locations where people from the North are known to gather,” Sanda stated. “Our commitment to keeping Lagos free from Boko Haram and banditry remains strong.”
He further revealed that many of the arrested suspects are non-Nigerians posing as citizens, highlighting the complexity of the insurgency threat. Sanda urged continued vigilance and cooperation among residents and security agencies to maintain the state’s security.
