Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani has accused ex-President Muhammadu Buhari of favoring Katsina indigenes in key appointments, explaining why Northerners remained silent during his administration. Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Sani listed agencies like the SSS, NIA, and NIMASA led by Katsina appointees, stating: “DG of SSS, Daura was from Katsina…Railway Corporation, Katsina state…all those things.”

Sani argued that Northerners avoided criticizing Buhari because they “benefited from the system,” citing skewed military and paramilitary appointments. He noted the trend extended to agencies like FRSC and Civil Defense, reinforcing regional favoritism.
