The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dismissed speculation that its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is planning to join President Bola Tinubu’s camp ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, stated, “Kwankwaso is not joining Tinubu. He is consulting across the country ahead of 2027.” He added that Kwankwaso remains a key figure in the NNPP and is focused on building a strong alternative platform for Nigerians.
The clarification follows widespread rumours suggesting the former Kano State governor may be aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next presidential race.
