TIME magazine has included nine African leaders in its 2024 list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

TIME magazine has named nine African leaders in its 2024 TIME100 list, recognizing their global influence across politics, business, and activism. The list highlights individuals shaping the future of their fields and the world.
Among the Africans honored are Kenyan President William Ruto, Nigerian development economist Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh.
Also featured are climate activist Vanessa Nakate from Uganda and Rwandan physician Dr. Agnes Binagwaho, alongside others making significant contributions in governance, science, and social justice.
TIME described the honorees as individuals “using their influence to forge real change in their communities and beyond.”
