Gospel singer and radio talk show host, Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji, has passed away. He died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, following a brief illness.
Big Bolaji, who turned 50 in November 2024, was a respected figure in Nigeria’s gospel music scene and an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
His death was confirmed in a statement by his family on Saturday. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B,’ a cherished father, husband, brother… and a giant in the music industry,” the statement read.
“Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness,” it continued.
Big Bolaji was best known for his annual concert, Turnitup With Big Bolaji, held in Ibadan for several years.
Funeral details will be announced later as the family prepares to celebrate his life and legacy.
