“I support coalitions and opposition. But not the kind that has people like El-Rufai. When the time comes, the moment they are offered what they want, they will go back to where they came from,” he said
Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticized the proposed political coalition reportedly involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday during the 50th birthday celebration of Lillian Adebayo, wife of former SDP presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo, Sowore declared he would not support any coalition featuring individuals he believes lack credibility.
“I support coalitions and opposition. But not the kind that has people like El-Rufai. When the time comes, the moment they are offered what they want, they will go back to where they came from,” he said.
He also questioned the moral integrity of many coalition members, claiming, “Most of them were Buhari cabinet members who are supposed to be in prison forming a union of prisoners, not coalitions.”
Sowore described such efforts as recycled politics, lacking the vision needed for real change in Nigeria.
