Carl Cruz, the newly appointed CEO of Globe Telecom, says his international experience has shaped his approach to business leadership. Speaking about his time managing operations in Nigeria and India, Cruz stated, “What Nigeria and India taught me is to never underestimate any market.”
Cruz officially took over as CEO of the Philippines’ largest telecommunications company on April 18. He brings over 30 years of experience, including senior roles at Unilever and previously as the CEO of Unilever Philippines.
He emphasized that while infrastructure and regulation may vary, the fundamental challenges of connectivity, customer service, and innovation remain consistent across markets. “If you just assume that it’s going to be easy, you’re going to be humbled,” he added.
