Former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jacob Mark, says more defections will hit political parties before the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Arise News, Mark said Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection was unsurprising, noting Nigerian politics lacks ideological foundation. “Defections are okay… all the political parties are the same,” he said.
Mark stressed that personal interests, not performance or public sentiment, often drive defections. “We’re yet to see the end… the dynamics of 2027 will cause all these movements,” he added.
