It’s been one week without power and water and it’s affecting our studies.
Students of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, have barricaded all entrances to the institution in protest over ongoing electricity and water outages. The disruption, lasting about a week, marks the third protest in two months.
“We can’t continue like this. It’s been one week without power and water and it’s affecting our studies,” a student said anonymously. Another student noted, “We’ve protested before, but nothing changed. We need our voices to be heard.”
Students cite mounting discomfort and fear poor academic performance as exams approach. They are demanding urgent intervention from the state government and school authorities.
As of press time, management had yet to issue a formal response, while students insisted their grievances must be urgently addressed.
