The Yoruba Nation has declared its support for Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, praising his leadership and calling for African unity, sovereignty, and self-reliant development across the continent.
The Yoruba Nation, a global coalition of Yoruba communities, has expressed strong support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, describing him as a pivotal figure in Africa’s quest for independence and self-determination.
In a statement signed by Chairman Chief Omodunni Ayorinde and Secretary Mr. Banjo Adewale, the group called Traoré a “symbol of resistance, unity, and anti-imperialism,” adding that he embodies people-centered governance.
“We have observed the developments in Burkina Faso under Captain Traoré and are offering him our full support for his unwavering commitment to African dignity and sovereignty,” the statement read.
They praised his reforms, including the Faso Mebo program, infrastructure expansion, and focus on food sovereignty, calling them vital steps toward sustainable development.
“In an era of shrinking international aid and rising global instability, African nations must learn to harness their own resources effectively. Captain Traoré’s approach is a reminder that with determination and good governance, transformation is possible,” they stated.
The group urged other African nations to follow suit.
