Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has been officially recognised as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State following his defection from the PDP.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has officially recognised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the party leader in the state, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The announcement was made by the APC Delta State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, who stated, “This position is not subject to debate or contention. It is a principle consistent with our party’s tradition and leadership structure across the federation.”
Oborevwori joined the APC on Monday, April 28, 2025, in a ceremony endorsed by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, who affirmed the governor’s leadership role.
The party cautioned members against disputing Oborevwori’s position, warning, “Any such posture would amount to a deliberate act of provocation and a source of avoidable tension within our party ranks.”
Reaffirming its support, the APC praised the governor’s M.O.R.E. agenda and called on members to rally behind him for the development of Delta State.
