Oshiomhole: Atiku is a serial defector, can’t criticize Okowa who defected once

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for opposing Ifeanyi Okowa’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the 28th Founders’ Day Lecture of Independent Television and Radio, Oshiomhole said Atiku, a “serial defector,” lacks the moral ground to condemn Okowa. “A sitting vice president can decamp and take the position of a vice president to an opposition party… and Supreme Court has pronouncement on that,” he noted.

Recalling Atiku’s past defections and electoral losses across various parties, Oshiomhole added, “This same person… defected back to PDP, contested and lost… decamped to APC… and again back to PDP.” He expressed surprise Atiku would criticize Okowa, who has only switched parties once.

  1. The defection of Gov. Okowa has no electoral value to APC. Gov. Okowa could not deliver his state(Delta) , for PDP.
His emergence as the vice presidential candidate of PDP in the 2023 election was the greatest mistake that caused the defeat of PDP.
We are dealing with issues of performance in terms of economy, security, job creation and food security which APC has failed woefully. The most corrupt government in Nigerian history
How can they win 2027 election, when Nigerians are improvirished
No governor today can deliver his state in a free and fair election.
