In an update, Adeyanju stated that a team of lawyers led by the “Head of our firm @Marvin_Omorogbe just met VDM’s friend, who was arrested together with him in EFCC custody.
Popular social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju confirmed the arrest Friday, revealing VDM was apprehended alongside a friend after being allegedly locked inside a GT Bank exit for five minutes to facilitate the arrest. The detention follows VDM’s public criticism of GTB over alleged unauthorized transactions from his mother’s account.
In a Facebook update, Adeyanju stated: “VDM refused to come out of the cell; that he won’t see anyone.” The legal team vowed to sue GTB over the “inhumane treatment,” as supporters demand transparency in the case. The EFCC has yet to disclose official charges.
