“There is no place as heaven or hell.” — Apostle Okoriko’s direct denial of traditional afterlife
Apostle John Okoriko, founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Akwa Ibom State, has stirred controversy with claims that heaven and hell do not exist as physical locations. Speaking during the church’s monthly Interactive Service in Ibekwe Akpan Nya, Mkpat Enin LGA, Okoriko argued that these concepts are misunderstood.
“There is no place as heaven or hell,” the cleric said.
Addressing the topic, “Heavenly Places in Christ Jesus,” he explained that heavenly places refer to divine encounters that happen in a believer’s life on earth.
“Heavenly places in Christ Jesus are where you stay and God comes down to intervene in your life circumstances,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of a pure heart, suggesting that divine presence is the true experience of heaven.
“If your heart is pure, God dwells in you, and heaven has come to earth for you. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God,” he added.
His remarks challenge traditional Christian teachings on the afterlife.
