In a Facebook post, Adeyanju said, “We still cannot understand why he was arrested. EFCC said there’s no petition against him after our repeated demand.”
Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has contradicted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrest of social media personality Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
According to Daily Sun, the EFCC claimed the arrest was due to multiple petitions against Otse. However, Adeyanju, who visited Otse at the EFCC’s facility on Monday evening, revealed a different story.
In a Facebook post, Adeyanju said, “We still cannot understand why he was arrested. EFCC said there’s no petition against him after our repeated demand.”
Adeyanju’s comments raise questions about the legitimacy of the arrest, as the EFCC remains unclear about the reasons behind it.
The case has attracted attention due to the public figure’s popularity, with many now seeking clarity on the EFCC’s actions.
