“Had there been timely communication, the current protests might have been avoided,” said Osadolor.
Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is expected to be released today following his arrest last Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face multiple charges, including cyberstalking and related offenses.
His detention has sparked protests in Abuja, with demonstrators describing the arrest as illegal. Public figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Richard Akinnola, Davido, and Cubana Chief Priest have condemned the development.
Although no formal charges have been filed yet, the EFCC is reportedly finalizing legal action based on several petitions.
“I can confirm that as of today, VeryDarkMan has not yet been formally charged in court. However, charges are currently being prepared based on multiple petitions alleging cyberstalking and related offences,” a source said.
