AI is going to help us discover new tools. And even in the delivery of health, education and agriculture advice, we’ll be using AI
Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates emphasized the transformative role of artificial intelligence in addressing global challenges during a meeting with Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Wednesday. Gates expressed optimism, stating, “AI is going to help us discover new tools… in the delivery of health, education and agriculture advice.”
He also highlighted efforts to eradicate polio, measles, and malaria. President Prabowo noted that philanthropists have donated over $159 million to Indonesia since 2009, largely for health initiatives including vaccine funding. Gates later visited a Jakarta elementary school with Prabowo, observing students benefiting from a free meal programme. The visit aligns with Gates’ broader advocacy for innovation-driven global health interventions.
