US President Donald Trump is weighing a plan to end Israel’s 18-month war on Gaza, with Israeli media reporting it could be announced by week’s end. According to Israel Hayom, the White House-backed proposal would include political and security arrangements in Gaza and may offer Hamas leaders reassurances of non-assassination and involvement in a civilian administration. Though Israel has partially cooperated, the plan reportedly falls short of its demands and is expected to be presented as a fait accompli.

Axios reports that Trump met Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer to discuss Gaza and Iran but has since severed contact with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, citing alleged manipulation. “People close to Trump told him that Netanyahu is manipulating him… so he decided to cut off contact,” Israeli Army Radio quoted an unnamed official.

Meanwhile, Hamas’s Qassam Brigades killed two Israeli soldiers in Rafah during ongoing clashes, intensifying pressure for a resolution. Israeli officials say Trump needs swift progress as he eyes a broader Middle East deal.
