The President/CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has clarified that his company is not in competition with Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), stressing both entities are partners in transforming Nigeria’s energy sector.
Dangote made the remark during a courtesy visit to NNPC’s Group CEO, Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Thursday. “There is no competition between us… NNPC is part and parcel of our business,” he said, according to a statement by NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye.
Ojulari, in response, welcomed the Dangote delegation and praised their commitment to national development. He reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s readiness for a value-driven partnership guided by innovation and long-term economic growth.
Both leaders committed to directly managing the relationship between their organisations and pledged to explore synergies that would enhance Nigeria’s refining capacity.
Their collaboration comes at a pivotal time as Nigeria works to boost domestic fuel production and reduce reliance on imports.
