The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has apologised after a rescue truck collided with a private car, killing three teenagers and injuring one in Wuse 2, Abuja. The crash occurred late Friday at the ECOWAS junction while the truck, responding to a fire at Avenue Plaza, was refilling water.
FCT Controller Momodu Ganiyu expressed “profound regret,” stating, “We are sorry over the unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of three teenagers.” He confirmed that the affected Camry was emerging from a side street when the crash occurred.
FFS Controller-General Jaji Abdulganiyu has ordered an investigation and will visit the victims’ families. The truck driver is in police custody and other crew members have been suspended pending inquiry.
