Barcelona moved within touching distance of the La Liga title after a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory over Real Madrid in a pulsating Clasico at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.

Kylian Mbappe struck a sensational hat-trick, including two early goals, but it wasn’t enough to stop Barcelona, who hit four in a rampant first-half turnaround. Eric Garcia, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha (twice) all found the net as Barca overturned a 2-0 deficit before the break.

Mbappe completed his treble in the second half, taking his tally to a record-breaking 39 goals in his debut season for Madrid. Fermin Lopez thought he had added a fifth for Barca, but VAR ruled it out for handball.

Barcelona’s win leaves them seven points clear of Real Madrid with just three games left.

“We fought hard for this win,” said Barca boss Hansi Flick. “It’s a testament to our character after the Champions League exit.”
