Fubara said, “Do you even know if I want to go back there? My spirit has already left there. Not everything is by ‘oshogbe’…”

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has distanced himself from comments made by some supporters during a service of songs held in honour of the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The event, organised by the Rivers Elders Forum, saw several speakers criticise Fubara’s suspension and refer to him as “Governor.” Responding, Fubara said, “Do you even know if I want to go back there? My spirit has already left there.”

He described the remarks as personal opinions unlikely to promote peace. “Not everything is by ‘oshogbe,’” he added, urging a more strategic approach to the ongoing political crisis.
