Multiple soldiers reported dead after Boko Haram attack on military base in Borno.
Boko Haram militants attacked a Nigerian Army base in Borno State on Saturday night, killing an unconfirmed number of soldiers and stealing ammunition. The insurgents targeted the 153 Task Force Battalion in Marte Local Government Area, setting fire to armored tanks. Sources indicate that communication with the base was lost after the attack.
“There was another Boko Haram dislodgement in Marte 153 TF Battalion on Saturday night, so many of our men are feared dead as we already lost communication with the base since the attack,” a Major in the Army told SaharaReporters.
This attack follows a similar assault a few weeks ago in which 22 soldiers, including a commander, were killed.
