A 16-year-old student, Anthony Chinecherem Toruka, has made history in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with an aggregate score of 364—the highest ever by a student from Delta State.
An SS3 student of St. Augustine College, New Karu, Nasarawa State, Toruka sat for the UTME on April 26 at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Centenary CBT Centre, Maitama, Abuja. He scored 76 in English, 94 in Mathematics, 98 in Chemistry, and 96 in Physics.
With this performance, he becomes not only the best in his school’s history but also a state record-holder.
“He is a rare gem; a gift to St. Augustine College, a gift to his parents and his generation,” the school declared.
Toruka, from Illah, Oshimili North LGA of Delta State, has maintained straight A’s and a 5.0 GPA since SS1.
He scored 1510 in the SAT and placed 1st in Nasarawa State in a national IQ competition.
