A Lurgan woman has received a suspended sentence after admitting to supplying cannabis. Danielle Walsh, 34, of Ben Crom, appeared before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court in connection with an offence dating back to June 12, 2024.

According to the prosecution, police observed a man leaving Walsh’s residence and suspected a drug transaction had taken place. The man was later found with herbal cannabis identical to that discovered in Walsh’s home, where it was wrapped in kitchen roll.

District Judge Michael Ranaghan noted that Walsh had appeared in court for similar offences just five days prior to the incident.

A defence lawyer told the court Walsh had supplied cannabis to “close friends” for “little or no profit,” and had used the drug herself for health reasons. “I am told she has very much left this life behind,” the lawyer added, noting she had been drug-free since October.

Walsh was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months.
