This is coming barely 24 hours after the terrorists attacked the military base in Marte that left unspecified number of soldiers killed, and many still missing.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched coordinated attacks on military bases in Rann, Gajiram, and Dikwa, Borno State, killing at least four soldiers early Tuesday.

Security sources confirmed the assaults, noting that insurgents suffered heavy losses in Dikwa and Gajiram where troops repelled them.

The attack in Rann left four soldiers dead, six injured, and destroyed military vehicles, including an MRAP and a Russian-made T-72 tank. “They set ablaze MRAP, a gun truck, and a Russian-made T-72,” a source revealed.

The assaults come just 24 hours after terrorists overran Marte base, leaving soldiers dead and missing. A resident reported hours-long fighting before Rann base was breached.

Despite military resistance, the repeated attacks highlight persistent security challenges in Nigeria’s Northeast.
