While JAMB defends the results, citing successful anti-malpractice measures, the review panel convenes in Abuja to scrutinize the process.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board will, on Thursday, review the 2025 UTME results following widespread complaints.

A notice obtained by The PUNCH confirmed that JAMB will meet with vice-chancellors, provosts, rectors, principals, and examiners to scrutinise the results process.

“We are currently scrutinising these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues,” JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin said.

Out of 1.9 million candidates, over 1.5 million scored below 200, with just 12,414 scoring above 300.

While the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, defended the results as consistent with past years, Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa said, “The failure rate shows anti-malpractice efforts are working.”

Still, many candidates allege discrepancies.

“Dear @JAMBHQ… I can’t go from 285 to 156,” one candidate wrote online.

Amid the protests, 15-year-old Afolabi Ayodeji from Akure emerged top scorer with 370—“I didn’t set out to break any record,” he said.

The review panel convenes Thursday in Abuja.
