The Lagos State Labour Party will conduct its chairmanship primaries on Friday using an indirect delegate system.
The Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) will hold its chairmanship primaries on Friday ahead of the July 12 local government elections. LP State Chairman, Pastor Dayo Ekong, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos. According to her, the party will adopt an indirect, delegate-based system to select its candidates.
“Our councillorship primaries will hold today (Thursday) across all the wards, while the chairmanship primaries will be held on Friday in all the local government areas,” she said.
Ekong added, “We are committed to free, fair and transparent primary elections. We are confident of a good outing in the election.”
LASIEC will conduct elections in 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs.
