Nigeria’s crude oil output, including condensate, fell to 1.486 million barrels per day (bpd) in April 2025 from 1.401 million bpd in March, according to OPEC’s May Monthly Oil Market Report.

The figure was based on direct communication data, while secondary sources put output at 1.471 million bpd.

Bonny Light crude traded at $66 per barrel, $9 below Nigeria’s $75 per barrel 2025 budget benchmark.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), however, reported April output at 1.683 million bpd, up 5% from March’s 1.603 million bpd.

“The daily average production in April was 1,683,307 barrels per day,” NUPRC stated.

NUPRC also confirmed the export of the first Obodo crude blend. CEO Gbenga Komolafe hailed it as “a major achievement for Nigeria’s upstream sector.”
