Candidates in Lagos, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia states have received SMS notifications on the date, time, and centres for their rescheduled exams, which will run through Monday.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) today begins the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 379,997 candidates affected by technical and human errors during the initial test.
Candidates in Lagos, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia states have received SMS notifications on the date, time, and centres for their rescheduled exams, which will run through Monday.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, acknowledged that “a combination of human and technological hiccups” disrupted the original sessions. He dismissed sabotage claims and assured the public of corrective measures.
Prominent figures including Peter Obi have praised Oloyede’s transparency, calling it “a rare but commendable display of accountability.”
The National Orientation Agency (NOA), University of Ilorin, JAMB Equal Opportunity Group, and COEASU have also lauded Oloyede’s response and called for systemic reforms.
“…The recent errors highlight the limitations of technology and the need for diligence and care in its deployment,” said COEASU President, Dr. Smart Olugbeko.
