The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly warned government officials in recent weeks that Gaza is nearing famine levels.
ABU DHABI — U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza during a business forum in Abu Dhabi, stating that “a lot of people are starving” and the ongoing war “will be taken care of.”
“And Gaza. Gotta get that taken care of, a lot of people are starving, a lot of bad things going on,” Trump told reporters at the event.
Since March 1, no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza, with Israeli authorities claiming that sufficient supplies were delivered during a previous six-week ceasefire and accusing Hamas of diverting aid.
However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly warned government officials in recent weeks that Gaza is nearing famine levels.
In response, Israel has helped launch the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a new initiative to bypass Hamas. Under the plan, aid will be distributed only from secured zones in southern Gaza overseen by U.S. contractors. Only vetted individuals will be allowed to collect food once every two weeks and deliver it into a controlled humanitarian corridor around Rafah.
