Agege Local Government Chairman Ganiyu Egunjobi has endorsed Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa’s son for APC council chairmanship, dismissing protests as politically motivated.

The Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Ganiyu Egunjobi, has thrown his support behind the candidacy of Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa’s son, Abdulganiyu, for the upcoming APC chairmanship election.

Speaking to journalists, Egunjobi dismissed allegations of imposition during the May 10 primaries, describing such protests as typical political theatrics.

“I’m sure if the results had gone their way, they would be lavishing praise on the electoral process,” he said.

Addressing criticism against Abdulganiyu, Egunjobi said, “This is someone that is well-read, a PhD student for that matter… he deserves to succeed me.”

Egunjobi highlighted his administration’s achievements, including road construction, vocational training upgrades, and youth empowerment, while urging an end to divisive identity politics in Agege.

“We are all born and bred in Agege… The dichotomy doesn’t hold water,” he concluded.
