Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), says his campaign is aimed at tackling bad governance, not President Bola Tinubu. Speaking in Abuja during a visit to the Anglican hospital diocese of Kubwa and Anglican Comprehensive Secondary School, Obi emphasized that his concerns center around the nation’s challenges. “I and the president are not fighting,” he said. “I’m not fighting anybody. My fight is against bad governance, hunger, poverty, out-of-school children, and people not having health services.”
Obi decried the poor state of healthcare across the country, noting that the majority of Nigerians lack health insurance coverage. He stressed the need for urgent reforms in the health sector to ensure equitable access to services.
The former Anambra governor also criticized political leaders for focusing excessively on politics rather than development. He urged for a redirection toward policies that prioritize citizens’ welfare and national progress.
