The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will release results on Wednesday for 379,000 candidates who took the rescheduled UTME.
The exam was rescheduled following mass failures and technical glitches, particularly in Lagos and South-East states.
Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede accepted responsibility, describing the situation as “sabotage,” and announced a resit for affected candidates.
However, the South-East caucus in the House of Representatives has demanded Oloyede’s resignation, calling the episode a “catastrophic institutional failure.”
In a statement by Hon. Iduma Igariwey, the lawmakers criticised poor planning, short notice, and scheduling clashes with WAEC exams. They called for cancellation of the 2025 UTME and a fresh exam after WAEC and NECO conclude.
Out of nearly two million candidates, over 75% scored below 200. Only 0.63% scored above 300.
