Nigeria’s former Education Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has announced her appointment as an Advisor to Club de Madrid, a global forum of former democratic leaders. She disclosed this in a Tuesday post on her X handle, describing the group as “the world’s largest forum of democratic former Presidents and Prime Ministers.”
Ezekwesili stated that the forum leverages its members’ collective leadership experience to advance inclusive governance and global well-being. “As our global context becomes even more complex, the leadership vacuum delays solutions to ‘global public Bads,’” she noted, praising the group’s commitment to solving worldwide challenges.
The ex-minister expressed enthusiasm for the role, saying, “Delighted to support.” Club de Madrid includes over 100 former heads of government focused on policy advocacy and democratic development. Ezekwesili’s appointment reinforces her continued influence in global governance and reform initiatives.
