The Korean Cultural Centre has announced that over 300,000 Nigerians have benefited from its programmes in the last 15 years. The figure was revealed during the 2025 UNESCO World Cultural Diversity Day celebration held at the Centre’s premises in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Centre’s Cultural Events and Communications Officer, Jenifer Ezeonyeasi, said: “Over 15 years, we’ve had over 300,000 learners, participants, and visitors, with an average of at least 16,000 visitors and participants in our events yearly.”
She added that more than 650 cultural programmes have been held in cities such as Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, and Port Harcourt, and that the Centre has supported over 100 Nigerians through Korean government scholarships.
Also speaking, Ambassador Emmanuel Ejiogu, President of Youth Orientation for Development, stressed the importance of cultural diversity. “Cultural diversity is not just a reality; it’s a strength,” he said, urging Nigerians to embrace dialogue, empathy, and mutual respect.
