The Atiku Abubakar-led political coalition has debunked media reports claiming it has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform for the 2027 general elections.
Salihu Moh. Lukman, a prominent coalition member, described the reports as “misleading and false” in a statement issued Thursday in Abuja.
Lukman, a former APC National Working Committee member, also denied reports that he has been appointed to head the coalition’s secretariat.
“The public should disregard the story as it is completely false. No such decision has been taken,” Lukman stated.
He clarified that negotiations among coalition leaders are still ongoing and any formal announcement will be made in due course.
“Unfortunately, there appears to be some mischief makers promoting and planting stories in the media with the clear aim of sowing seeds of discord among coalition leaders,” he said.
He urged the public and media to ignore unverified claims, emphasizing that no political platform has been finalized yet for the 2027 race.
