The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has suspended operations at the Port Harcourt Refinery for planned maintenance.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced the temporary shutdown of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) beginning May 24, 2025, for scheduled maintenance. Chief Corporate Communications Officer Femi Soneye, in a statement, said the exercise aims to improve refinery performance and ensure long-term operational sustainability.
“The Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will undergo a planned maintenance shutdown,” Soneye noted, adding that the company is collaborating with key regulators including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
“NNPC Ltd remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering sustainable energy security,” he stated. The company assured the public of regular updates via its website and media platforms throughout the maintenance period.
