Alejandro Garnacho is set to leave Manchester United after Ruben Amorim informed the Argentine he is not part of his plans for next season. According to Mirror Football, the Portuguese coach delivered the message during a players’ meeting at Carrington, where he also confirmed he would remain in charge beyond the summer.
Garnacho’s fate was reportedly sealed following his furious reaction to being benched for United’s Europa League final loss to Spurs. “The season was s***… today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after,” he told reporters.
Amorim declined to confirm the futures of Garnacho or Bruno Fernandes, saying: “We have a plan… but now we have to focus on the last game.”
Garnacho, 20, has three years left on his contract and has been linked with Chelsea and Napoli. He made 58 appearances this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists.
