Weeden allegedly communicated with her grandson and sent him money after the May 16th escape.

Another person is in custody following the escape of 10 inmates from the Orleans Justice Center. Connie Weeden, grandmother of fugitive Jermaine Donald, was arrested and charged with felony accessory after the fact.

State police allege Weeden communicated with Donald before and after the May 16 escape and sent him money via a phone app. Surveillance video captured the inmates slipping out around 4 a.m. through a hole behind a jail toilet while a guard was away.

Weeden is the third civilian arrested in connection with the escape. Earlier this week, two others were charged with helping fugitives with transportation.

“Those who choose to assist or conceal these individuals are violating the law and will be held accountable,” said state police.

Donald, who faces charges including second-degree murder, remains at large with four others. Authorities continue to urge the public to provide tips as the search intensifies.
