If your JAMB score falls between 140 and 180, you still have great options for gaining admission into Nigerian universities
Candidates who scored between 140 and 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) still have viable pathways to gain admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Change of Course process, students are allowed to switch to programmes with lower cut-off marks. This adjustment increases their chances of securing admission, especially into state universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
“If your JAMB score falls between 140 and 180, you still have great options for gaining admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education,” a statement reads. “The Change of Course process allows you to adjust your application to courses with lower cut-offs, increasing your chances of admission.”
Candidates are encouraged to explore a variety of science, arts, and commercial courses that accept lower cut-off marks. These programmes are offered in several state-owned and private institutions across the country.
